Hello, I will be in Santa Fe for just one night and would like to find a nice hotel (not costly) close to the plaza. I'd like to be able to walk to museums, shopping, etc.

I've come across the following places, can anyone comment on them? Are they nice? Need a safe area for a single female to be walking, not late night but early evening.

Hotel St. Francis

La Fonda

Old Santa Fe Inn

Inn of the Governors

If these are not good choices, can you recommend any others? These rooms cost approx $99.- $129.

Thanks!

All excellent choices. La Fonda is on the Plaza (and very historic), so for a single night it's a good location for walking. I'd put Hotel St Francis at #2.

I usually stay at the La Fonda when I visit. I like the funky mid-20th Century Southwest interior decor.
