Hi all -
We'll be moving soon and wanted to know if anyone has a gyn or workout facility they would recommend. I take agility and strength classes and water aerobics. My husband enjoys the bikes and other stationery equipment. We've belonged to 24 Hour Fitness and LA Firtness in the past. I haven't seen anything like those listed in Santa Fe.
Many thanks -
AC

Unfortunately you'll find Santa Fe missing a lot of the big chains you are used too. No LA Fitness, 24 hour Fitness, Gold's or Bally's here. If by chance you're going to be living near Eldorado, The Gym at Eldorado is nice, clean, and convenient, but expensive in my opinion. In the city, your best bet and bang for the buck is probably Anytime Fitness near Smith's on St. Michaels. I've heard positive things about Mandril's Gym, but have never been there.

Buddha Fitness is a beautiful gym with lots of windows but also expensive. You have your own key so you can come and go anytime but they have very few classes. Chavez Comunity Center has many amenitities. I go swimming there.

What are the costs for these gyms? Just curious because I'd probably like to join one if I moved there. I didn't know Eldorado had one.

Definitely check out the Genoveva Chavez Community Center. It is the largest of the public facilities and is heads above the private facilities in the state we moved from (Alabama) at a fraction of the cost.

You can find numerous gyms - large and small at all different price levels. At the lower price range our Recreation Division operates 2 facilities (both with pools and classes) - Annual Adult Couple costs $516, and Senior Adult Couple is $221. The community college is also reasonable if you live in that part of town. The other facilities with pools are considerably more expensive.
