I will be in Santa Fe on this Thursday - Sunday before going to Chama. We're staying at the Madeleine B & B in the historic district. Never stayed there before, hope it is nice for what it costs.

I've notice it is wine festival weekend and I had so hoped to take a cooking class but they are doing wine stuff as all the restaurants are and might I add are all booked. Do you think there will be other stuff to do other than the artist stuff. Possibly something going on at the Railroad Farmer's market that will be fun? I had not seen this Railroad farmer's market before. I usually go through Trinidad or Taos before our yearly Chama trip. . Oh well I am sure I'll find something to do for 3 days.

Debbie- If you pop over to the Santa fe Trip Advisor forum look for under one of the Destination Experts named KthSch, he usually stays at the Madeline and loves it but also gives amazingly detailed descriptions of what to do on a trip. You will be there the Wine and Chile Festival, it's a fun event if you can manage to find a ticket or even go to one of the special dinners Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta Updates and News from New Mexico

The Farmer's Market is in the Railyard District. Lots of yummy treats and a nice place to stroll on a Saturday morning.
