Sometimes the Railroad District will have 'live' music outdoors.
But it's getting pretty late in the year for that now?
What you have in the Railroad District is some decent restaurants and some funky little shops.
The Railroad district is NOT that big.
Still, you can often spend a few hours walking around, especially if you include a nice meal.
If you're going to be in Santa Fe, don't go to Cowgirl or Zia to eat. You need authentic New Mexican food. Tia Sophia's on San Francisco across from the Lensic has great authentic food. They only serve breakfast and lunch, though. I believe they close at 2pm. Don't waste your time in Santa Fe getting food you can get somewhere else.

Thanks, I was going to try Cowgirl but will try Sophia instead.
One of my major gripes about visiting Santa Fe's central district today is trying to find a parking spot that IS NOT metered. In the past few years they've made sure to either meter every available slot, or force visitors onto parking lots that all charge a fee. It didn't USED TO BE that way. I can recall when it was possible to park all over the Rail Yard area without feeding a meter - or even seeing one.

Ahhhhh...progress!!!
There was even basically a railyard district until a few years ago. And parking is metered to help pay for the development of the district. I believe on weekends you can park for $1 at the parking garage at the railyard. Parking fees are low in SF as compared to many places I've been.

I read reviews about Tia Sophia's last week and was excited until I read that they were not open on Sundays, which is when I would be in Santa Fe. Can you recommend another place? Thanks!
You don't want to go to Tia Sophia’s anyways there are better places to eat! Atrisco Cafe in the De Vargas Center is much better! Plus it’s open on Sundays! As for parking there is a parking structure next to the Round House that is FREE to park at just be sure to get your car out of there by 7 because I think they close it at that time.
