I lived off grid for many years.
The reason you can’t get financing for an off grid place is that very few people want these homes and the bank doesn’t want to get stuck with a property it can’t easily unload. Same thing with places that are land heavy.
So even though We eventually grid tied our place (in Idaho) we knew when we put it on the market last month that it was going to need a cash buyer. We marketed with Sports Afield Trophy Properties and it sold in a month for cash with a full price offer.
Finding the right realtor for these properties is really important.
SA markets heavily to people looking for their western dream place.
