I love the Pantry too. Haven't been there for dinner.
I guess my current list of top favorites would be: La Choza, Maria's, Tecolote Cafe, the Pantry, The Flying Tortilla, Harry's Roadhouse, Bobcat Bite, and Posa's. I know I am leaving out a lot.
We eat at Whole Hog BBQ quite often. I am from Kansas City but not a BBQ fan -- but I like their pulled pork sandwiches. YUMM
Is Paul's still open? THAT was exceptional food. Also I very much enjoyed Pronzo's but I'm not sure if that's still open either. Been a while since I've been to Santa Fe. I had a very enjoyable meal in the restaurant at the Hilton near the plaza.
Tonight we ate at Piccolino's Italian Restaurant in Santa Fe.
I was skeptical about getting good Italian food in Santa Fe, but it was fantastic! It was our first vist there, but we will go back often to try more of the selections on their extensive menu.
I'll be driving instead of flying through ALB next month, so I can spend an evening and the following morning, driving around, visit my old house (it used to be in a good neighborhood) and getting some real New Mexican food that is severely lacking in Dallas. oh the decision I have to make, where to eat. Want dinner when I get into town in Old Town. The only place I remember eating there was La Hacienta, which I have heard on this thread is lacking now a days. The last time I was there it was 1980. Before that it was in 1965. in 1960's we would frequent El Patio, which I understand is no longer but there is another El Patio, but I don't think it is the same. On the way back I want to go through Sante Fe and go to the Shed, and bring back a case of their red sause.
I didn't have time to make it up to Sante Fe on the way out to Sedona. It is really good, the best Red I have had. not for the faint of heart. It was fun watching a buddy of mine have it. He didn't grow up on this spicey fare. He was sweating bullets. I think he was from Boston.

The Jambo cafe- corner of Cerillos and St Michaels, in the strip mall with the Petco store in it. Hands down the best food we've eaten in SF.
That's just down the way from Curves, where I work out. I have heard a number of women at Curves mention how much they like Jambo. Guess I need to try it.
