just a good suggestion: take all valuables(purse,$$,ipad etc) w/ you when/if you decide to do a little day (or less) hike. Its not unusual or uncommon for fastily done vehicle break in's, even at busy "parking lots" up/off of Hyde Park rd, Ski Basen, etc or other trail heads.
