I'm moving to either Santa Fe or Albuquerque. Which would you recommend? I'm a 28-year-old with jobs in both cities moving from Minnesota. Looking to rent a house for a little while, taking advantage of relatively cheaper prices. I know Albuquerque is a lot bigger and probably offers more amenities, but Santa Fe is a really interesting city unlike any other, and I loved it when I was there. How quickly do you get bored in Santa Fe? Is there enough to do without going into Albuquerque?

Depends entirely on what your personal interests are. If one can afford it, Santa Fe would win out with most - hands down.

I agree with this completely. Albuquerque has a lower COL, but SF is worth it, IMO. However, in these Covid times, hoping there to be "enough to do" is a lost cause, no matter where you are. You need to be realistic.

ABQ has gang activity (one of the workers at my mailbox rental place lost her son to gang violence 2 yrs. ago), Santa Fe doesn't. ABQ is hotter in the summers. IMO QOL is better in Santa Fe.

There are gangs in Santa Fe:

ABQ is not much hotter in the summer, and had milder winters than Santa Fe.
