Well, it is obvious that American Eagle's service to Santa Fe is a success.

So, I decided to do a poll - what new airline/route would you like to see out of Santa Fe?

While I live in Rio Rancho, if Santa Fe is cheaper (which can indeed happen) than Albuquerque, I think a Santa Fe-Salt Lake City on Delta Connection (SkyWest) would be quite useful.

Also, before anyone suggests Southwest for Santa Fe, remember that the infrastructure at the Santa Fe Airport cannot handle any aircraft more than 60 seats let alone 737s.

I think United's service to/from Denver is the most likely candidate, Delta a strong second. I like the idea of a more centrally located hub since that will connect to more locations. Even though it often makes sense, people don't like to fly West to head East.

If Santa Fe can handle an EMJ, then United could also add a Santa Fe-ORD route.

I don't see SAF-ORD happening, as American Eagle would have already started it if there was a need for it (ORD is American's second largest hub). In addition, a CRJ-200/ERJ-145 could struggle on the route in the summer due to hot-and-high conditions, perhaps requiring either a CRJ-700 or Embraer 170, which are too large for SAF to handle.

At least SLC provides a decent connection to the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii.
