I thought people got the plague around here because of the dried rodent excrement that was carried by the wind then inhaled. Not animial bites. Most mice I've ever seen run the opposite direction when I encounter them.

Don't know about plague, but that IS true of Hanta Virus. Doesn't have to be wind blown - just stirring it up when cleaning house or .....

I am no doctor, but I don't think they amputate for the plague... you just get better or die. Of course the hospital here is horrible so maybe they don't know any better. =)

I want kids at some point, and raising them in Santa Fe is a huge concern of mine. When I have kids I will probably leave Santa Fe. The public schools are not very good and drugs are a big problem. Los Alamos has excellent schools but there is even less to do there. When the time comes I will probably move to Albuquerque and find a good private school.

I guess you should have read the website of the couple who had the plague.

The amputations were done in New York City at Beth Israel Hospital, not in Santa Fe.

There are good private schools here in SF... so you don't have to leave!

No, I didn't see the article. Well, to every doctors defense, none of them have had to deal with the plague for like 800 years.

I want a safe area to move my girls, I want them to speak Spanish as well as English, I cant but i think its important for them to. We are not rich & we scrape by, but unless u come from a family w money you get no where here, I wanna give my kids opportunities Ive never had.
