You will need to figure out what brand you have. It's usually written on the box, stuck in a closet somewhere. I've seen them listed on the web for as low as $12 a month. Keep in mind if you have phone through your cable, when the power goes out your security system will not be able to call the monitoring center (unless you have a cell phone back-up). That didn't occur to me until after I had my system installed.
