Hello. I was wondering if there is a good bulk food store to hit up in the Bradenton area? I'm not moving all my spices/etc. with me, and I would prefer to not purchase them all in their own container at the grocery store--that gets kind of pricey!

there is bj's in sarasota that has it in bulk. are you having movers move your stuff? keep in mind that they charge by weight. your spices are worth far more than what they weigh.

Although we didn't get any "new customer gift" when we recently went for the first time (hint, hint), Richard's will be perfect for replenishing your spices.
Also, Oriental Food and Gifts, in Gulf Gate (
Oriental Food & Gifts - Sarasota, FL (941) 924-8066 ) will REALLY cover any Asian cooking you intend to do. My better half recently managed to find rice powder, handfuls of BEAUTIFUL Thai chili peppers, rice noodles, chili sauce, etc etc., in addition to whatever spices you could possibly want.

might look into ups ground rather than tossing the stuff. i am now sorry that i gave and threw away so much good stuff. wife caught me at a weak moment and i unpack ratted. now i am missing all the good stuff that i had stashed. so what if i hadnt used it for 20 years.
