We are looking at homes in the Mill Creek subdivision and would like some input on it. We are relocating from Chicago. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

LOVE LOVE LOVE MILL CREEK-- very, very safe, family oriented area yet, very peaceful. Homes range in price starting around $220,000 up to $350,000. We would have bought there but it was just too far from our jobs. Gorgeous lots, most about an acre, some more. Fences are allowed too. Very good school district, all A rated schools. Only downfalls: Childcare is limited and the nearest hospital is LWR medical center at 20 minutes away. However, even though it's quite a way out east, there is shopping nearby with Publix and a shopping center, fast food and others. Super close access to I75 also which makes commutes to Tampa and Sarasota easy. The area is VERY country like, quiet and meticulously maintained by residents. It's also a HUGE subdivision, I think there are like 12 phases!. The residents go all out for Christmas - we spend halloween in Mill Creek with good friends and its a good time. They have hayrides (slow..) throught the streets, and most of the residents "camp out" in the driveways with closed fire pits and beverages-waiting for the trick or treaters. Not in a rowdy way though. It has a very old fashioned feel to it. There is no community pool though as where many other subdivisions offer one. I am unsure what the HOA fees are like, but with no pool Id assume they are reasonable. I would absolutely recommend it!

I'm also originally from Chicago. Anyways Millcreek is very nice, if the larger lots is a feature you like then check out Panther Ridge as well. Just take Lorraine Rd from SR 64 to SR 70 and turn left, less than 5 minutes ahead you will see the signs. I recommend the preserve with homes on 1 acre plus lots. Good luck, you can't go wrong with either.
