No, you are right, you don't want to park yourself there. Just watch for things like the number of recessed lights or the placement of them, the appliance models you ordered, damaged tubs, tile choices, custom work, that sort of thing. I'm using these as examples...not suggesting that these were specific issues. Some people want everything to be perfect, others can handle minor deviations. One customer did have a problem with the placement of a screen door and a custom concrete pad outside the pool area and that couldn't be fixed. My advice is to let them know as soon as something hits you as a problem and remind the construction supervisor of any custom changes you made before they actually do them. Problems seem to fall into two categories: damaged components and choices made with the design person not being communicated well enough to the construction supervisor. Overall, though, they are good people.

I can assure you that my Medallion home built this year contains no CDW. I watched it as it was put up and spoke with the manufacturer of the DW.

I'm going to give you a little advice. There's a force in the universe that makes things happen. And all you have to do is get in touch with it, stop thinking, let things happen, and be the ball.

So it appears there is a troll in this forum bashing Medallion:

I've heard of companies that are being slandered getting court orders to identify posters by their ISP number and going after them for damages.

Do you know if Medallion Homes used Chinese Drywall on more that one home? Would make sense that the did - please let me know, as I am trying to find how reputable the home builder is and if he fixed the issues with Chinese Drywall on his homes built during the Chinese Drywall Period from 2001 to 2008. Carlos Beruff and Medallion Homes will stand before the Sarasota Board of County Commissioners on Nov 18, 2014 at 1:30PM to prove they are reputable and stand behind homeowners with Chinese Drywall and other building concerns. please let me know, or you can just show up at 1660 Ringling Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34236 and speak your mind to the Commission RP 14-17 - Thank you.

Several large builders, including Centex and Lennar, used CDW, so it is not endemic to Medallion or an indication that they are a "bunch of thugs". It's pretty safe to say we are no longer importing drywall from China at this point and most of not all of the homes, since the first discovery of it almost 8 years ago, have been remediated.

CDW is the LBP (lead based paint) of our generation and is basically irrelevant at this point.
