All your posts sound encouraging. I made myself hang out when the weather was in the high 90's and humid here in NJ to see if I could do my bird watching and photography- I survived tho I was sweating. My DH is an avid tennis player and when he was younger he would play in 100 weather but we're both getting older.I'd love to be inSarasota year round and think I can handle it but don't know if DH can. Plan B is a moderate 2nd home up north and become the dreaded "snowbirds"'. I promise I won't become one of those SB's that cut across 3 lanes of traffic to make a left turn. LOL

we moved here at the hottest time of the year and have managed. it's been fine. seriously. yes it gets hot but it gets broken up. this week has been rainy, cloudy and 79-88 degrees. we never thought, being from NY, we'd be sitting here missing the sun but we are!!

Yeah, I think it can stop raining now...the plants are well-hydrated. My kids would like to actually play on their new playground at their new school! LOL! But the storms are much nicer here. I'd much rather watch palm trees swaying in the storm than buckeye trees.

The sun is more plentiful in the winter. This is why they call summer the rainy season (usually not ALL day everyday though!) I went for a jog this morning and the sun was actually coming up, and not behind clouds!! Fingers crossed!

It's trying but not making much progress. Heck, I'd just like to get my lawn mowed before it's 2 feet tall! I think by the weekend the chances of rain start to diminish....fingers crossed

Hi Big House, we bought a house in North Port and have spent these last few months putting in the landscaping and learning our way around. We made the drive down (5147 miles) in just 9 days of driving, the first five days in snow. The house is great, the weather is hot and the pool is cool. Life is good.

HH, I've stood in 40 degree glacial streams for hours fishing for salmon wearing T-shirt, shorts and tennis shoes. But don't worry about me too much, the pool is heated. LOL

Well. I have only been here about 3 weeks now, but I am used to the weather. I lived in SW Florida for awhile, so this wasn't a new experience but I did have to be reminded. I almost melted the first two days. My house up north didn't have A/C so it is such a treat (necessity) to have it now. My car doesn't have A/C so that makes some mid day trips a bit sweaty, but luckily when I drive to work it's early or evening so it has cooled down a bit.

It has been too hot to walk the dog in the afternoons, but this morning she is sitting outside in the lawn enjoying herself. All in all, I can't complain. However, I am looking forward to the weather when I can open the doors and let some fresh air in.
