Hi all -- day one of getting our new FL Driver's License, our car gets smacked by guy heading our direction --he lost control on a wet curve. Fortunately, we are fine but now need a recommendation for a body shop and maybe a good chiropractor. Either Sarasota or Bradenton works for us. THanks!

Thank Heavens you are OK. Driving in this area can be quite scary at times.

I was rear-ended last year (I was unharmed, thanks to the car I had at the time), and Cox Chevrolet in Bradenton did an EXCELLENT job on the repair. Honestly, some of the best work I have ever seen from a body shop.

While I had an issue with their customer service (pretty minor, in retrospect), the paint match was PERFECT, there was NO----absolutely zero----paint overspray, and the new parts were aligned better than factory (it was an 2000 well-assembled and bullet-proof Chevy that was produced in one of the highest-quality plants in North America...so Cox's attention to detail was a nice surprise).

It seems this wasn't your type of accident, but IMO, in this area, NEVER, EVER, EVER sit at a stoplight without your head against the headrest and the drivers foot completely depressing the brake pedal.

Regarding a Chiropracter: As an M.D. student, I cannot offer any advice in that area.

I can, however, offer that I have trained under several highly-competent D.O.'s who have awesome medical training AND are wonderful people AND can also do Chiropractic-style "manipulations." For that, Cooper Family Medicine in Bradenton (They are on the faculty of both FSU College of Medicine and LECOM).

I hope this process goes perfectly smoothly for you.

Thanks for replies. I may check that clinic out SRQ123. No need for a body shop now -- the insurance company totaled the car -- which is good.
