New to area. Checked VRBO and they listed at least 20 areas within Sarasota. We have no idea where to start. Want to be close to the beach. Any suggestions?

Since I've lived in SWFL for over 16 years, I haven't vacationed in Sarasota in a long time, but I used to stay in Sarasota many years ago. I'm curious why you didn't mention Longboat Key or Lido Key.

I lived on Lido three houses down from Holiday Inn which is now an empty gravel lot right next to the 4 plex which has been totally remodeled. I miss my old huge studio apt
Lido to me is a lot more laid back than Siesta and has great shopping where as Siesta is the party scene. I really love Lido, we plan to buy there eventually. It is my favorite part of Sarasota!!!

Lido to me is a lot more laid back than Siesta and has great shopping where as Siesta is the party scene. I really love Lido, we plan to buy there eventually. It is my favorite part of Sarasota!!!
