What a gorgeous stretch of weather we've had, and have yet to come! No more A/C (at least not for the next 7-10 days!). Can't wait for the $170 electric bills to go back down to $60!
Get out and enjoy!!!

Our windows and lanai have been open for two solid days now. After a swim, we took a nap in the living room in the middle of the day (a VERY rare occurrence).

It's just gorgeous. Last night we drove the 5 minutes to Siesta Key, had a great meal at Taste of Asia (Laotian and Vietnamese and Thai, oh my!), got some ice cream, then walked on the beach.

This just puts everyone into a better mood, no doubt!

same in DFW for the past week or 10 days--hopefully our fall will last longer than usual and we will have some Indian Summer weather...

This thread is exactly why I cannot wait to move to Florida next June. It's freezing in Ohio!

One question as a FL newbee. Is it OK (with pollen, dust, etc.) to fling open the doors and windows? It is beautiful, but I'm a bit wary.

If you have a screened lanai, you should be fine.

If not, you might have a legitimate concern, but I doubt it. If I had to guess, running forced air is probably worse for you than allowing natural unprocessed air to circulate.

I guess you'll just have to give it a try.

I would think it all depends on how much (if any) allergies you have. I couldn't imagine not opening the house up! That's what we look forward to most with the cooler weather (and warmer in the spring). Opening the doors and windows & turning the A/C (or heat) off!
My neighbors still have their houses buttoned up and the A/C on. I just keep shaking my head and saying "what the heck?!?!?!?" And of course they gripe about high electric bills Duh!!!

the fun thing is getting to hear nature again instead of the drone of the AC. Unfortunately a little traffic noise also but it's nice to hear the birds and breeze instead of the AC.
