Has anyone been there that can offer me some input..we are looking to take our 4 year old but are used to Hunsaders. We don't want to be disappointed in comparision. Looking for petting zoo, pony rides, other rides maybe..games.. is Fruitville Groves going to be dull for her??

We went to the Fruitville farm last weekend for the pumpkin festival. I'll be honest...I didn't care for it. Although, I'm afraid my opinion might be biased simply because I just moved here from Ohio and we have pumpkin farms that we can go to where you go out into the field and pick the pumpkin off the vine.

Here's what they had: they had pony rides (ponies that are hooked to a thingy that goes in a circle), they had a playground, hayride, bouncy house, a big bouncy slide, a few animals to see/pet, some craft booths (about 10 total), a little train ride, and a tent area where you could go in and pick a pumpkin.

The festival was free to get into - but once you get in, they nickel and dime you to death. You pay for each activity individually. I think the only free thing was the playground, but I could be wrong. We didn't stay long.

I do plan on attending the one at Hunsader farm. We drove by there the other day and it looks like it could be a lot of fun!

Thanks, I think we will pass on it. Glad you warned me : )OMG Hunsaders is amazing, it's costly to get in and paying for parking stinks.. we make it a tradition and save up for it! The fall variety of foods is amazing, tons of crafts, pumpkin cannons, lots for the kids to do. Its just a great atmosphere, definitely check it out once. We are from Chicago and heard about it after our relocation, it gets packed and people come from all over. You can check out their site if you google Hunsader Farms in Myakka City
