I'd go to Anna Marie Island! The place rocks!

Wonderful suggestions so far, I'd add Tommy Bahama's in St. Armands, Riverhouse Reef and Grill in Palmetto, or Ophelia's on Siesta Key. Or you could stroll LWR Mainstreet, grab a bite at any of the restaurants there and see a movie. The theatre sells liquer too!

I just travelled to Pittsburg and took my family out to Ruth Chris there. We had a wonderful time.

I'm so glad you mentoined Ruth Chris. I know it's a chain and all, but it is my absolute favorite place to eat. I have been trying for years to recreate their garlic crust to no avail. You can ask the cook to special order it over their fish and it is amazing. I also am in love with thier banana foster creme pie.

Anyone wanna babysit for me?

I'd go to Ophelia's on Siesta Key and then have a glass of wine on the beach

Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions. We ended up having a perfect date night. It was actually pretty low-key, but exactly what we needed. After much debate (LOL) we finally decided to go to Oleary's. We have passed that place many times while visiting that little park with our kiddos, and always thought it might be a nice place to check out without kids. Since moving down here, we've developed quite an obsession with sunsets and sailboats. We were able to enjoy both right there near Oleary's. After that, we drove down to Siesta Key and took a long walk on the beach. We even managed to get free cupcakes from the little cupcake shop in Siesta...just happened to walk up as they were closing and they offered us each a cupcake no charge, ha! Sadly, we were home by 10:00, but we really enjoyed our little night out. Thanks again for all the suggestions. I do plan on keeping tabs on this thread so I can reference it again next time we have a chance to go out!
