I recall the same thing back when we had to fill our pool. At least where we were, you pay an additional sewer charge on every gallon of water you buy from the county. Since you aren't passing the pool water thru the sewer system, they give you an exemption for X number of gallons.

No they don't. You may get as much as $15.00 off the cost for the treatment of that water, but you will have to pay for the water you get, and jump through a ton of hurdles in order to get the credit. They aren't very helpful. When we wanted to drain and fill a pool because the water had turned and gotten bad when we bought our house - it was costly to treat it, but not as much as refilling it. The alternative is to find a water truck, but that may be difficult to do as well.

Hi Sunshines, you are entitled to 2 adjustments to your water bill per year. They should send you 1 short form to fill out. They should credit you back a portion but it's not much. The county had to fix the connection to our place which was their error. They had me run water until they found the leak outside and our water bill for that month was about 20 more than usual. The adjustment made was only 8.25, hardly worth the effort in our case.

Not sure if they do it down here, but up north the fire dept would send out a tanker to fill a pool for $xx.xx. Something to maybe check out.

Default pool fillup

yes contact charlotte county water dept. to email you form for adjustment to water bill for period you do the fillup, but to be honest, it really wont cost as much as you think, and the savings you get off the bill will be minimal. Let us know how its going, and when the pool party is,but please wait for a warmup or be prepared with plenty of liquor, so we dont realize the air temp is close to freezing

If you consider that an alternative - I think I'll swim in my own pool - Thanks, and think twice about inviting you over.

And, I use a hose, and of course as usual, my hose is bigger than yours - regardless of the type of hose we are talking about.
