Hi there,

My husband and I are looking for a non denominational church where we can start to attend regularly. We were raised catholic and plan on raising our daughter catholic also, but were fed up with catholic masses. We used to attend regularly until our daughter got a bit older. The sermons are boring and drawn out, and I cant find any Catholic church where they have a good childrens program. Im also tired of being the only one under 60 at mass We live in Bradenton, near University Pkway.. were looking for a younger group of people, a good kids program and friendly people where we wont be "shunned" for being an outsider.. any ideas?

We're going to try this one out. We like a casual, come as you are attitude. My son's friend goes there so that's where he wants to go to check out.

We've been trying different churches since August. It's been tricky...

We recently tried one called Church of the Cross in Bradenton. Their website is Bradenton FL, Church of the Cross. So far, we liked this one the best. It was non-denominational with a younger crowd. The people were really friendly and the message was good.

Good luck!

There is Worship on Water on the Floating Chapel on the Bay, for a unique experience. It is a "Non-Denomination - Non-Affiliated Worship & Spiritual Growth Service". Right now, they are in Cortez, but they are moving to Sara Bay Marina on 41, (2 miles north of University,) in the new year.

Oobie, hope you ended up finding something for Christmas Eve. Sorry I didn't see your response last night. We did go to their Christmas Eve service and it was very nice. It was only the second time we'd been there, and I'm sure we'll go back again. Let us know how it goes!

Not sure where you are in Sarasota, but we have a small interdenominational fellowship, come as you are style, super informal and bilingual (Spanish-English) operating out of 2412 Manatee Ave E, Bradenton FL 34208, out of Zumba Fitness Studio, call me for more info at 941-565-1344, if interested. We meet Sundays at 7 pm and have short, but deeply spiritual, happy services. Otherwise, best wishes with your search.
