Hadn't been to the Dali Museum for maybe ten years, so yesterday, after a day at the Don Cesar (spa day for pregnant wife), we went and checked it out.

They have expanded it a LOT, and it is just awesome. If you have not been there recently (or ever), you really ought to take the 45 minute drive and go. They have added an entire gallery of prints and pencil drawings. It has really become a first-rate museum.

It gets a little crowded after 5, as tickets are discounted then, so go early.

I haven't been for a few years. I'll have to grab the kiddos and head up that way. Thanks for the heads up!

sounds good to me. how crowded after 5? i went to a dali exhibit in CT years ago and it was a mob scene, with a huge line and you had to kind of move along at the rate of the line/mob. i wouldn't be into doing that with the kids but if it's a normal kind of crowded that would be fine

We got there about 3:30 yesterday and it was fine, but within an hour or so, there was a long line.

I wanted to go a few weeks ago, but my husbands friends from St. Pete warned that it was so busy they were turning people away. I am going to give it a month or two when "season" is over, and then go, like maybe in April. I've really been looking forward to going to the new version of the museum!

I talked at length to the guy tending the bar (go figure, huh?), and he said that if you avoid late afternoons and all weekend, you're fine.

In other words, go Monday through Thursday, 9AM--3PM.

it's a brand new building that will rival the contents for dazzle. down the street from the previous location.
If you go, there's a great blown glass exhibition by a master glassmaker, Chihuly, I believe is spelled, on Beach drive
