Advertisements

A few random observations from last week down there:

It sure seems to go from opulence to ghetto rather quickly.

More Ohio and Michigan plates than New York. Does that mean that you are inundated with annoying Ohio State fans who never even attended the university? (kidding..)

What is Waffle House doing in Florida???

Beef O'Bradys wings dont hold a candle to Duffs or Bonnies in Brooklyn for that matter. Who named their kid Beef?

Seems like newly wed and nearly dead.

Never seen ads for title insurance on TV before.

The beaches are quite nice.

Tampa is really creepy.

In Sarasota, theres only 1 area you might consider a ghetto. Anywhere south of Main Street, which encompasses most of the town is very nice. Bradenton however, has many more dicey areas.

We're also inundated with Michigan fans. Probably because I-75 is a straight shot towards both states. New Yorkers tend to end up on the east coast (the I-95 factor).

Waffle House,...that's probably because the wages here are so low, many of us cannot afford to eat at more opulent restaurants.

Speaking of opulent restaurants, there is another place about on par with Waffle House, and the wings are much worse than at Beef O'Brady's,....Hooters!

Sarasota beaches are almost as good as it gets.

Tampa, you should've underlined "really".

#1 You will see the OH/MI tags much more than NY because you get on I-75 in Detroit or Columbus and it takes you right to Btown or Sarasota.

#2 Why should all the Waffle Houses be up North? We eat breakfast, too

#3 Bradenton is fine in some spots but not in a way lot of others. My friends who live in the "ghetto" don't want to live there....

#4 Beef O'Brady's is a chain...get over it...they also use SYSCO products...all food in Bradenton no matter what place you go, will tast the same, except for the Beach Bistro...

#5 Florida itself has always been the newly wed & nearly dead...that's old.

#6 Apparently title insurance is not big in CT.

#7 You must have missed Easter on Coquina...just kidding...The state of Florida is a beach, hello? Also, our sand is nice than up North, why wouldn't it be nice?

You should see it when we have a hurricane!

Why is there so little development east of 75?

Wouldnt that allow for more affordable homes

Grouth control.
There are a few developments east of 75, but a least 3 to 5 miles out. Sarasota county annexed most of the area to slow grouth (Not working). The only area east of 75 were you'll see development is Bee Ridge Rd.
This is why the City of North Port, Florida (South Sarasota County) does not wish Sarasota County to get involved in it's development.
