this was happening on LI too. The beaches were fantastic until the rainy part of the summer. then they would have lots of closings and I would be too grossed out to go back until Labor Day when I'd regret missing out on all the fun!! At least now I can enjoy the beaches for more than 1-2 months of the year!!
