What part of SW FL are you people in? There are trees all over around here. Maybe not so much in the bigger cities but drive around places like North Port, it's nothing but trees and more woodsy than maybe surrounding areas if you like that. If you like to look at clouds and sun and like open unobstructed sky like me, I'm a Florida sky lover. But I like trees too and hate a bare yard with no appeal.

How's this for trees? I want to plant a pygmy date palm in front when we get moved in!

Yeah that's pretty much most of North Port, lots and lots of trees. The only problem is the actual lot where the home sits. They clear cut the lots and then plant the four small oaks in the back. I suppose they (the builders) do this because it's easier to move the construction trucks around when building the home. I'm sure it will look even better once you get your palms planted.

Nice CCI home though

Yeah NP is known to be woodsy but a lot of people like that and wildlife of course. Maybe these people who feel treeless should move to North Port.

Construction Compliance Company. It's who built your home. Looks like you have the 1586 sq ft model or possibly the 1570 if they decided to make the closet.

Do a Google search for Jesse Battle CCI and you can read up on him. They're no longer around anymore. They actually went out with quite a bang.

It's actually 1600 sq. ft. I sure hope this builder was ok. He sold it to the guy we bought it from, that contractor finished it and we bought it.

The builder, ethically, not so great. The homes he built-you should be fine. Many of the homes he left abandoned got finished by other builders/subs and some are still hanging around unfinished.

Phew, glad to hear that bit of news at least. We did see two more a few streets over that were for sale and they looked to be about the same house.

I don't know what it is about pygmy date palm trees but I have had zero success with them after attempting to plant several in the ground. They all died. Also spoke to a neighbor and hers died too. I know they need extra manganese because they are prone to 'frizzle top' (manganese deficiency which can be fatal). I tried giving mine palm fertilizer with extra manganese but it still didn't help. Here's what is working very well though with several pygmy date palms that I have now: I leave them in big pots outdoors. They are all flourishing and healthy in pots outdoors.
