"Honolulu prohibits driving more than 5 MPH under the limit in the left lane." Hawaii is such a laid back place. They don't care if they ever get to their destination. LOL

What the hell does that even mean?

What does he care, anyway? Motorcades plow right through traffic.

Yeah, I'd say we all ought to heed that progressive leadership.

Again, I ask the same question of you, ma'am: Why are you so intent on driving in the left lane? What is the advantage to you?

Went to a family event in Tampa yesterday. On the drive back south on I-75 to Sarasota, I put the cruise on 70 mph (the speed limit) and EVERYONE passed me by....I was in the middle lane doing just what the posted signs recommended....not once in the left or right till I had to get off on Bee Ridge.

And, you probably arrived on time, no road rage, no traffic issues, and your hair - well it probably looks as beautiful as ever! No fuss, no muss!

I had the cruise set to 78 MPH today coming home from Orlando, and I was getting passed by most people!

You got that right! I actually got 150 miles on a half a tank of gas (2000 4Runner LTD) which is great for going 70 mph!

Then don't drive like a jerk. It seems this new bill needs to target dangerous aggressive drivers first, left lane hoggers second. Both are dangerous, but road rage is a bigger problem.
Right on !!!

Driving down to Sarasota National yesterday, something occurred to me. Talking about 41 and talking about 75 is like a conversation about birds, and one person is discussing their parakeets and the other is discussing condors.

OK, I guess I should have said apples and oranges, fine.

Anyway, my point is that the aggressive driving on 41 seems much more dangerous, with the turns and stops. The left laners, while annoying, are not generally as egregious here, because a.) there are so many more reasons to need to be in the left lane (i.e."turns"), and b.) we're probably not going to see a helluva lot of open road anyway.

Conversely, on 75, the speeding driver is not nearly as dangerous (no stops, no real turns), and the left laners are REALLY annoying because there is so often all that open road in front of them.

I would hope that any law could differentiate between the two, as I honestly believe that speeding on 41 is much more dangerous than doing so on 75, and that left-laning on 75 is much worse than it is on 41.

See how reasonable I am?

its really a pretty simple concept. if you are in the left lane and there is no one in front of you and you look in the rear view mirror and there is a line up behind you that looks like they are warming up their tires for a run at daytona swerving back and forth then duh, whos the a hole? then, when they finally get their chance to pass you on the right and they are yelling stuff its not "hi how are you, welcome to our great state of florida, enjoy your vacation" and that one middle finger is not the same as a thumbs up for excellent courteous driving.

and i gotta say as bad as jersey drivers are they dont hog the left lane like down here. drive fast, yup.
