Is it me, or does it seem like some of the snowbirds have already left for the summer? It doesn't seem as crowded this week to me. Maybe it's because Easter is late this year, or because we've had such warm weather this winter?

In our area it seems even busier since we are in the middle of spring break season, but I know what you mean about the snowbird early migration. A LOT of my neighbors have either already left or are within the next week or two. Why on earth would those people be in a hurry to get back to the 30-40 degree weather up north? Crazies :-) haha

Yep they are nuts. It's been 18 degrees in the mornings here. Highs have only been around 34 or so. They are saying we could have a little bit of snow Wednesday morning in the Pittsburgh area and they are still reporting the weather with wind chill factors. We MIGHT hit 50 by the weekend.

Once I leave I'm never coming back.

I have to say that Crescent Beach was busier than the last couple of weekends so I don't think they have "flocked" back up North yet...

Leaving?
Downtown SRQ is busier than ever. Never saw crowds like this weekend at Siesta Beach.
Restaurants seem busier than ever.
Try to get into the Bayfront area by Marina Jack's - can't!

I wish they'd go home already!!!!! (Oh wait - I'm one of them!) :-)

Yes, my snowbirds have left. I think there were more snowbirds renting for 3 months, (Jan-March) instead of staying in April also, due to the economy.

Maybe they're flocking from Charlotte/ South Sarasota counties north to Sarasota! Boy, it will be tough for the local economy if season is cut short this year. DON'T LEAVE YET!!!!

np, your weather sounds like Wisconsin's! It was 18 yesterday morning, but this morning it was all the way up to 24 when I came to work! WOW!! We too are struggling to get out of the 40's for daytime highs. And yes, the "S" word has been tossed around for Friday and Sunday.

One of our neighbors is gone already this year. They used to spend a couple of months. But every year since the economy tanked, they stay shorter and shorter amounts of time. They only stayed 6 weeks this year.

Just go see a movie and you will notice many many have stayed.

Yep, good for the economy but sooooo frustrating!
