Think a lot of people won. There's a laws for speeding, reckless driving and now a law for not blocking the left lane. Make your pass then move over. Winning.

It still has to be passed by the House and approved by the governor before it becomes law.

I think this is a good idea for MAJOR highways like I-75. However are you aware this proposed law is for EVERY 2-lane road???? What about people that NEED to be in the left lane to turn left? How do they define "about to turn left"? Is it 1 block? 1 mile? And if there is a lot of traffic someone might want to get over in the left lane a bit early before their left turn (or else due to heavy traffic they might miss their turn by not being able to get over to the left lane in time). I think the overall TRAFFIC situation on I-41 in many areas in the region is too heavy - so they think this law will help the over-congestion problem on places like I-41. What they really need to do is build another lane on I-41 to improve the highway. I live in Nokomis and I-41 between Sarasota and Nokomis is usually very crowded. I doubt this law will help situations like this. If anything it might promote speeding (or give the impression that speeding is OK). One again I'm not against this for places like I-75 - but elsewhere I think they will have a hard time uniformly enforcing this and I doubt it will do much good.

I see this as a shakedown, nothing more. This will pass and all the idiots in the left lane doing 100mph will subsidise the states revenue shortfall. Drive on all of you in a big hurry to go no place fast, drive on . Watch the death rates on Florida highways skyrocket also, good plan.

i think this bill is aimed at people that fall asleep in the fast lane or decide they want to play police officer and limit how fast others can go.

as for the secondary hiways, people get in the fast lane that have no intention of turning left anytime soon or get over 10 miles ahead. pure inconsideration.

i have found when i want to go fast i get in the right lane for 2 reasons. 1 all the slugs are in the left and the cops are usually watching the left with their radar.

Have people gotten forgotten what they were originally taught? Hasn't the rule if not law always been keep right except to pass? Anyone who doesn't get that should be ticketed because they create a hazard by moping along in the left lane and making people pass on the right.

There is a lot of people whether it is here or where I live right now that don't practice what they were taught in High School Drivers Ed! The far left lane is a passing lane, not a sight seeing, or I want to make a political statement against aggressive drivers lane.
