Can Anyone tell me the pros or cons to these 2 schools or just compare and contrast them? I know they are both good schools according to the rating systems. Please add other school names if you think there are better ones out there. Also any input on Middle schools. I can't seem to find a good school boundaries map. I'm looking to move to Sarasota and trying to figure out where I need to house in order to be in the school districtI want for my kids. I have one in HS, not yet driving, and one in middle.

I had the same problem! Here is the link to the Sarasota County school attendance zones to make neighborhood shopping a little simpler:
Sarasota County Schools Long Range Planning

One of my kids went to Riverview after attending a small private school for many years and enjoyed it. They have a highly regarded International Baccalaureate program and an excellent music/arts program as well. The school is only two years old. Sarasota HS has not been quite so academically focused but is developing a math/science core program that shows potential.

Brookside Middle students go on to primarily Sarasota or Riverview High. Sarasota Middle feeds mainly into Riverview High. One of my kids is at Brookside in their IB program. I am fairly pleased with it overall (and I'm kind of picky). Some of the teachers are extremely high quality.

Lakewood Ranch HS is in Manatee County and has a very large student body but I don't know much else about it, sorry. There's a school map in .PDF on the Manatee County school district website:
