I am a senior citizen who is disabled. I and currently in an abusive relationship and I am desperately looking to live on my own. I am currently receiving disability and am on a fixed income. Karen, I would check with the Catholic church in Venice since you are in an abusive relationship. They may be able to help. I would think at the very least they could point you in the right direction.

There are parks with old single wide homes for under $20,000 but none are $350 lot rent. Most are $550 and up

Anyone know of other 55+ housing in the area as far as rentals for fixed income? Or good reputation realtors? My wife and I are looking to pack it in up here in NY. I would like for her to take it easy now and hopefully find some work for me as a driver or something that won't demand heavy physical stuff. Thanks hope to hear from some of you locals.

Try this site below. It has nearly all of the mobile home parks in the country, and you can break it down to just 55+ parks. You can ck out the mobile homes that are for sale in all the cities. Most of them give the lot rental fees, and you can always call the parks too.
My guess is that $350 a month is not going to happen in the area you want to move to. Looking at Sarasota on the website, I saw 9 senior parks, starting w/ a low monthly fee of $475. All of the others were higher, and most were a lot higher. We pay $356 a month in Volusia county, and plan on moving to St. Pete soon. The rents there, from just a quick look at the websites, run from $299 up. We figure we'll pay $450 in St. Pete, but it will be worth it to get out of here.
