Like so many others, we are considering a relocation to Sarasota. We've taken a look at housing and are now wanting to look at the other aspects of our lives. Does anyone have thoughts about a Catholic Church in Sarasota that has a larger presence of families with young children?

Thanks for the thoughts...

Sadly, we found that there aren't too many families in the catholic churches around, and virtually no kids programs. We are from Chicago where many churches catered to families and kids. We attend St Joe's in Bradenton where we are registered. We bounce around a bit depending on what our schedule is for the weekend...St Jude has some good mass times in late afternoon and Sunday evening, the sermons are usually quick too but their English masses are limited. St Martha's is beautiful, pretty traditional. Since we live on the border of Sarasota and Bradenton, these churches are in North Sarasota.

Grew up going to Incarnation over on Bee Ridge and they had a lot of children's programs then. (They are actually affiliated with a k-8 school as well). Not sure what their activities consist of today as I no longer live in the area, but they might be worth checking out. Good luck

I'm Jewish, however our Cub Scout Pack meets at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church and they have been very nice and seem to have quite a few children and families that attend. They also require everyone who works with children and the elderly to take a safety course and get background checks and fingerprints done.

They are located off Gulf Gate.
