We will be heading to Florida to stay. Leaving Nebraska Monday morning or maybe late Sunday night.I have a feeling I won't be able to sleep anyways. We put the house on the market on Wednesday. Have a 26' Penske truck loaded and waiting in the driveway with a car hauler hooked to the back.Over a year of waiting for the right job finally paid off. It still hasn't sunk in yet.We are moving to Florida. This last week has prepared us for the July August heat and humidity of SW Florida. 98 degrees today and has been like that all week.

I'd also like to add my congrats on making your dream come true. Having grown up in the midwest, I can tell you it's much easier to deal with FL heat and humidity in the summer than frigid, cloudy weather and ice & snow on the roads all winter long. My first winter in FL, I think I put on a sweater a few times but didn't wear a coat at all. Now, after living here for years and years, I get chilly if the temp drops below 60. Hope your trip is safe and uneventful!

It's great that you have a job in a FL as many people make a move without job security. Moving (anywhere) is exciting and stressful and Nebraska to Florida is going to be quite a change. Best of luck to you. I was in the local (Publix) supermarket today (after 15 months in Florida) and I just started to recognize how alienated I felt when I first moved here. What I mean is that I finally feel like a resident local, not "out of place" if you get the meaning. It takes awhile but give it time and patience and you (and your family) will adjust. Welcome to paradise. Enjoy!

Congratulations on the move to Florida. Once you get unpacked and settled in, you will find plenty of things to do or just relax if you choose. Best wishes in your new job too.

Congratulations Pat! I know you've had a long road here. Just think you can spend your weekends fishing with Harbor Hopper and Big House. Ill keep an eye out for your pink Jeep running around town.
