I have to say, I have been surprised. On my phone I have side-by-side widgets with current weather for Minneapolis and for Orlando. There have been a lot of times this summer where it's been 10+ degrees warmer here! Although we've had a hot summer. And it's more humid in FL. I was still surprised though!

Any insight on the Q i posted earlier about sweat-iquette?

And, when your heat goes out, you don't have that worry about the pipes freezing some where any longer.

Also, do you have to carry a sweater everywhere you go because of strong AC blasting? In MN, it can get really hot in the summer (hot, humid, FL-like) which I love love love, but everywhere I go has the AC set to 65 and I freeze all day. It's so annoying to have to have a space heater on at work when it's 95 degrees outside. Or have to bring a sweatshirt. It's impossible to dress appropriately here on the hot days in the summer. Do you find this to be commin in FL as well?

One more thing. Is sweat acceptable or frowned upon in FL? I have to assume that people sweat a lot due to the heat. That sweats gotta go somewhere since it isn't being evaporated... so if you have sweat on your clothes, is it less awkward in FL or will people still look at you like you are a freak?

Oh Girl, you're making me all hot and sweaty right now!!

i had to worry even when my heat was on! i had a bathroom with the tub against the outside wall. Not well insulated pipes and sometimes they'd freeze, luckily it never burst like my neighbor's did! we always left the water trickling in the if it went below 30 degrees and that seemed to help but if it got down below 15 degrees there was no stopping it, it would freeze up!

so nope, not a worry anymore!

Dress code really depends on the company you're employed with; with the economy so depressed, you won't find it as much of an icebox in malls, movie theatres or any other place of business (except the 711's) like it used to be.

Everyone sweats here. Baby powder/cornstarch is your new best friend from May through October.

My wife wears flip flops to the office on many day as do most of the women there. They are the nicer kind of flip flops I guess. Not the rubber things that make Crocs look dressy. She also brings a sweater almost everywhere. Not the big fluffy pull over kind, but the light, button up kind.

I knew I shouldn't try to answer this one.

We each have our own tolerance levels, but I don't understand all the posts that claim we don't get a lot of 90+ days. It's just not true. It's been in the 90s almost every day since late April, although it's beginning to cool off now. However, the forecast for tomorrow and Sunday is 94. I just checked the weather for Sarasota, since I'm further south, and it's also 88 degrees at 6:20 and the forecast for Sat & Sun is 92. Yes, it does "cool down" a bit when it's overcast, but a home in Florida without a/c is very uncomfortable. Most people can "survive" for a few days, even weeks without a/c or even power. I lost all power during some major hurricanes, but I wouldn't call it living. I mean, a person can go weeks without food too.

Forgot to mention that is an old English saying from way back. 1800's at least!
