why do you find it pretentious? you don't feel they can produce what's being offered or they are claiming skill they don't possess? I think a lot of the choices look delicious but I would be wary because of the "hit or miss" review the restaurant got here. Other reviews I've read say the food is great. I'll probably try it eventually.

instead of trying to compete with the rotten apple why not enjoy what you have here. go to pops in venice and watch the boats go by. go to stump pass grill where you will get a great grouper sandwich while the sun goes down. get the water taxi at leverocks and go out to rumbay for lunch or dinner. rent a boat and go to cabbage key for a burger in paradise, stopping at empty beaches for shells and swimming on the way. even sharkys is cool for visitors. food is not great but atmosphere is good.

unless you can find a place that has the overwhelming smell of diesel and gas exhaust, gang graphitti, rude arrogant i am better than you and have to push my way in front of you people, bumper to bumper traffic you will not recreate the ny dining experience.

having lived up there i have been to the ny spots. will take a publix sub and a 6 pack of beer on the beach at sunset over the four seasons in manhattan any day.

i guess not everyone is meant to leave the big city.

^^^LMAO!!! The irony...............

^^I'm sure there is some history, but I don't understand why some are filled with such animosity/hatred (that will KILL you!). It's like the pot calling the kettle black..

Letting it go, and apologies to the reading audience as I'm not here to stir things up. Just thought that post was funny as h*ll!

From the front page of their website:

A mosaic is a work of art composed of diverse elements; pieces from various origins put together in a new way, creating something innovative and harmonious, original and unrepeatable, where every piece harkens back to its origins.

I'll tell you what--their menu looks marvelous.

I guess I can go and deal with the inevitable techno-thumping Sprockets-emulating atmosphere if the food will be anywhere as good as it sounds.

If I wanted this atmosphere, I'd go to an upscale NYC hair salon, not a restaurant.

<sigh>

Yeah, that's what I what I meant as "too-too" LOL My husband and I at first thought their menu was a joke, as in being "tongue-in cheek" or something, but apparently not..
