Thanks for all replies. Can I please ask further:
How do water charges run for a 3BR,21/2 BTH 2200sq ft home with no irrigation well?-with a pool.
How do electricity charges run?
By the way,I was shocked to be charged $400 to register a 6 yr old car-double New York State charges.
Again, thank you for your kind replies.

Here are some links that may be helpful in determining rates as well as other costs involved in moving to Florida.

FPL rates: http://www.fpl.com/customer/rates_and_bill/index.shtml

City of Sarasota Water Usage Rate Calculator: http://www.sarasotagov.com/rwrc.htm
If you have a well, the only costs involved would be electrical power to run the equipment, salt if you have a water softener, and chlorine tablets for the water. Also, any costs in replacing equipment or parts for the equipment.

Water meter replacement Program in Sarasota: http://www.sarasotagov.com/LivingInSarasota/Contents/PublicWorks/UtilitiesWaterMeterReplacement.htm

Moving to Florida: http://www.stateofflorida.com/Portal/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabid=40
The moving to Florida site provides provide driver’s license and vehicle registration information, employment, real estate, taxes, schools, operating a business, residency info, communities, weather and seasons, and cost of living comparisons.

We moved here from NY too. The things that we found cost more are driver’s license and registration, homeowner insurance, car insurance and food. Other than that most everything else is cheaper such as income taxes, property taxes, and gas.
