Well, my oven has crapped out as there is just over a week before Thanksgiving...Our landlord told us to call anyone we wanted to. It's a gas oven...we have called two people who do not service gas ovens. The stove top part works fine. Any thoughts? We are in Sarasota.

We had a problem with our in the wall oven. It was a JennAir. We had to call a service company that serviced specifically JennAir brands. I would look at the make and model and you can go to the web site and it gives you a person that services that brand in your area. But we did this because ours was still under warranty. Basically you might just have to call around until you find someone that can do it.

If you can't find a local company that services gas maybe try Sears? They seem to service everything. I sure miss my gas stove. I don't like cooking by numbers............

You might check with your gas company. Most of them sell and install appliances, so they may do service as well.

There is an appliance service repair shop in Venice on the bypass. It is past NAPA on the right side of the road heading north. They share the same building as avis rental cars. I had a problem with my washer. I takes to the repair guy, he gave me some ideas and I was able to fix my washer myself.

That's reassuring! We went there because the builder suggested them. We met John Rice, who turned us over to Jason, his salesman.

When you build a home (for anyone that doesn't already know this) you're given an appliance budget. You can pick out anything you want, but if you go over the budget, you pay the store (Rice's in our case) the difference. Well, Sue wanted a French door/2-drawer Samsung (the one without WiFi...) and as it transpired, that model went on sale this past weekend. Even though the invoice had already been written up, and we were just waiting on verification that all our choices would (physically) fit the kitchen, Jason called to say that the price of the refrigerator was $500.00 lower than what we thought it was.

After paying for the fridge (locking in the sale price) we were approximately $0.92 under budget. That Sue, she sure knows how to shop
