40,000 gallons of sewage spill into Sarasota Bay downtown | HeraldTribune.com

OUCH! This doesn't sound good.
My place is right where the spill was.
Anyone here been to the area today?
How bad is the smell, etc.?

I hope it doesn't wreak havoc on the Bay. We walk our dog where the spill happened every day.

I realize the increased possibility of Red Tide due to the bacteria, but does anyone know of the immediate effects on the beaches? Have they closed any ?
