We used Rembrandt Floor Systems in Sarasota a few weeks ago. We had horribly stained terrazzo and they did a really great job.

We used Rembrandt also, a few years ago. Thought they did a pretty good job. I love terrazzo, IMO, it's about the best flooring there is - beautiful and almost no maintenance.

No, I haven't used them, but they are a member of Angie's List and you can read the reviews.

Does Rembrandt actually "grind" the top layer of the floor off and then re-seal & polish? That's what we need done to our Terrazzo from 1970

We need total restoration. The house is 1968 and there is damage from carpet nails and a couple of cracks. Absolutely love the floor! We move down permanently in Sept. "12 so I want to have the floors brought back to their glory days.

Yes, that is pretty much what they do. They can also make small repairs to fill nail holes left from carpet strips. If the floor has some REALLY bad stains that have penetrated they will not be able to remove them. Surface stains like paint usually come off just fine. Fortunately my floors were in pretty good shape except for a closet where the water heater and AC handler are, those floors are completely shot - just stained dark red from iron for some reason.

It costs about what you pay to have wood floors refinished, and it is really a labor intensive job, so they earn their pay.

I've done three of my own houses. The first is about three years since and still shines like glass, and we are not gentle on them either.
