The grocery stores sell wine down here. You can also go to ABC Fine Wine and Spirits on 41 in Venice. If you are looking to drink some wine and buy wine at the same place try Venice Wine and Coffee Company on Venice Ave West.

Total Wine & More is 3 miles from the airport in Tampa. Leaving the airport to drive to Venice, you probably would pass by it. It's hard to find any store with better selections and prices than Total Wine. ABC comes close on wines, but top alcohol (very old single malt, bourbon, and rum) are better priced in Total Wine.

Rosa Fiorelli Vineyards and Winery is in Bradenton, 35 miles from Venice so perhaps too far for you, but their small (10 acres) vineyards are pretty, their wine are decent, and they offer free tasting every day except holidays and Tuesdays.

If you use mixers, their prices are also much lower in Total Wine than anywhere else. Beer is very slightly higher in Total Wine than in Costco, but Costco does not have much of a selection while Total Wine carries almost every brand I could name.
