hi. i want to be a snowbird and can afford one month. i'm interested in colony cove or any other nice, well-kept mobile home park. i'm interested in over 45 or over 55, but not a community that is elderly. is there someone who wants to rent to a very responsible, honest woman, who will take great care of your property? thank you.

With all due respect, your post doesn't make much sense. You want an over 55 mobile home community that is not elderly? I don't think that's realistic.

It is my experience that many/most over-55 communities could be more accurately described as over-75. What you are looking for, then, is going to be pretty difficult to find.

Try the web site Mobile Home Village - www.mhvillage.com
It will give you a description of each community and a contact name and phone number. You can search for mobile homes for rent by checking the for rent box in the search criteria. Type in the location, how many beds and baths you want, and you can look in senior communities or all age communities.

We are 59&60 going into a 55 plus association. The elderly make great neighbors and we will find friends our age outside of the complex. Good Luck in your search.

My cousin owns a MH in a 55+ park in Venice. She is wanting to sell it, but may rent it out for a month. Let me know.

I talked with her last night. She only has two weeks open at the beginning of Feb.

This is the busy season. What are you willing to pay? I can tell you from personal experience that it will be difficult to find one for less than $1,500 in any nice park during the winter months. I am not too familiar with Bradenton, but this time of year, even RV parks charge about $1,000 to hook-up a camper. Example

I want to add that I agree with the other posts regarding over 55. The park I've lived in for over a year is not an age restricted park, but about 80% of its residents are snowbirds, and most of them are over 75. (and they can run circles around me!) My 91 year old neighbor goes to the pool every day and swims laps. This is a beautiful park, but the newer homes rent for $1,700 and the old, singlewides rent for about $1,400. http://www.villageofholidaylake.com/ I think it's crazy, but many people who stay in mobile home parks enjoy the lifestyle and all the activities. After April 15, however, most of those people head north. Then it's much cheaper to rent in Florida for the next 7 months.
