Our thoughts from our recent visit (Sarasota, Bradenton: renting, houses, to live in)

We just got back last night from your beautiful area. We felt there was a LOT of improvement since our last visit in July of 2010. In Port Charlotte, where our lot is, the houses are looking better, it appears people have bought homes and are fixing them up to live in instead of renting them out.
We found a lot of new (to us) waterfront hangouts, (gotta love the "find bars/restaurant near me" feature on my new smart phone) and spent more time in Venice, Bradenton and Sarasota than we ever have.
We can't wait to build on our lot, we hired a guy from PG to clear it while preserving the trees and good plants, and it looks great! We found a mature date palm with 5 trunks hidden by a bunch of bushes and wisteria! That was a pleasant surprise. We got to meet our neighbors, and found they were great people as well.
Now if we just didn't have these pesky jobs up here that keep us from moving sooner....
Oh...this was kinda funny, people always dis PC and Bradenton, but the only place where someone asked us for a hand out was in Sarasota!

We're happy that you had a good time and.......also got things accomplished, too! PROGRESS, right? We've got our house baaaaaaack on the market up here in NY.....one day already! (after OUR visit to FL), and we KNOW it will sell THIS TIME around! Like you guys, we can't WAIT to move to PC!! Love it down there! Keep warm up there in WI, and we'll try to do the same.......zero here again this morning! UGH! :-\
