interesting palm tree - need help (rating, trees, property)

I recently moved to a property with lots of trees including many palms. I found this interesting one that is split and I would like to save it from some day separating and falling apart. Can i wrap the lower trunk with something to help prevent the weight of the upper trunks from pulling it apart?

I've read some great palm tree advice on this board so I am hoping someone can help. I haven't found a similar tree while searching on the internet.

Viewing the the photo, it does not seem to be a split tree. The tree looks very old. At some point in time, as an oddity to a palm tree, a sprout grew on the trunk which turned into a branch, which grew into two separate tree trunks. If it was split, both trunks would not be round. If the two trunks have fronds, it is two separate trees with one common root ball.

yes, it has been but it also appears to be cracking down the middle, below where the V comes together! it's such a neat tree I would love to help keep it from falling apart.
