I'm curious why you would want to have permanent tint on your home windows. Blinds or curtains/draperies will block the sun and I am remembering when I had tinting on my vehicle windows, at night I could not see anything inside or outside of the vehicle the tint made it so dark and the tint itself wasnot that dark.

A lot depends on how dark or light of a tint you go with. We've had tint on our southern windows up north for years & it cuts down on heat in those room without making them much darker.

I went to Lowe's and got some tinting film for my office, and it works VERY well. Still a lovely view, just no blinding headache at day's end.

And CHEAP.

I did the same for my office when I was in Sarasota (to stop glare and control heat), and for all of the south facing windows in our house. It helped with the heat dramatically.

Did it darken the rooms a lot when you did it? Thanks

Absolutely not. The truth is, I almost forget the windows are tinted at all.

I just know that I can work a lot easier for 6-8 hours at a time now that they are tinted.

Some, but not dramatically. This was for a corner room though, so it had both south and west facing windows. Before the tint we had to keep the shades and curtains drawn to help control the heat, so I think it was a net gain!

For the office in Sarasota, it didn't really matter, since we put it on the East facing windows where we had glare issues in the early part of the day, but only through the entry way, and hall between the offices.
