Thinking about relocating to the Tidwater Preserve neighborhood in Bradenton. Any thoughts?

Are you familiar with the community or have you looked at homes there? The amenities include Port & Court Club, boat docks, community building and tennis courts. The pool and club house with fitness are scheduled for completion in May of 2012. There are also nature trails and a canoe/kayak launch. It is a gated and maintenance free community. The HOA fees are $700 per quarter to the Tidewater Preserve Master Association. Right now I only show one active listing in that community in the MLS. Some of the homes did have Chinese/Defective Drywall. Here is a link to their website: http://www.wcicommunities.com/tidewater-preserve/

Actually looking at building new there rather than buy an existing so the Chinese Drywall isnt a concern. When we were there earlier this month they had started work on the Community Center and had sold 6 new home within the past month. Hoping this is a good time to think about jumping in while the prices are still reasonable.

If you need a great contractor, I have one that I can recommend, he's great at building custom homes and did a great job on my home in Siesta Key

Yay, how exciting. When we had our home built we took photos along the way, especially where the plumbing and electrical run through and even the tie downs. Hope all goes smoothly.

If you don't mind sharing, what about the community made you decide to go there? I ask because, on its face, most buyers would shy away from the location. For example, proximity to 75, road noise, WCI's history, the chance that it may not be completed, etc. What do/did you see that overcame those things?
