I'll be coming down to Sarasota this summer, and had also planned to drive to other cities, over the weeks I'm there...places like Tampa/st Pete, and Orlando and probably Miami too.

Of course, I wish gas was not jumping up so much, and I may not see all I wanted to because of costs (we'll see)...

Do any others see themselves curtailing car travel this summer?

...and any one volunteer what they paid for regular this week? I paid $4.59
in Chicago area yesterday.

I ride my bike everywhere and that really offsets my gasoline consumption so no, I'm not curtailing my driving this summer. In fact, my sister, brother in law, husband, and myself are taking off this fall on a trip around the state.

I was talking with my son who still lives there this afternoon and he said that he's seen in between 3.7x and 3.9x depending upon where he is between the two counties.

We always seemed to be about 10-20 cents cheaper in Palmetto than Sarasota was.

I'm definitely not going to travel via car as much because of gas prices. I paid $3.93 yesterday for regular. I have been seeing a lot of people biking, walking, or taking cabs so I will probably do the same.

Paid $3.91 in North Port today. I have to keep traveling, it is part of my job. My grandson is in ICU at All Children's Hospital in St. Pete and I have been going up there every Sunday for the past 3 weeks. Probably if I didn't have to travel, I would stick home more.

Very sorry to hear about your grandson! I'll keep him in my prayers!
