We had older patior chairs here that were chipping--
took them to shop that stripped old finish off and repainted with quality finish

I am considering buying patio furniture off Craigs list and some might need to be redone
I can do wood refinishing -- not so much worried about that--
but think cleaning/painting older metal would be better done at shop with right equipment/materials

any suggestions?

if it's good quality furniture, I'd suggest powder coating.

yes--my intention -- which is why a shop would be required

well, there's big difference between painting and powder coating, just as there is a difference between a good old can of rostoleum and a professional stripping and painting job.

In Sarasota there is a shop on Porter Rd, don't know their name, east side of I-75 access from Palmer Bl I-75 under pass.
I've heard they do powder coating.
