I usually fly into Punta Gorda but this time I am either flying into Sarasota or Tampa. My final destination is my house in Venice. Would anyone know if it would be cheaper to get a taxi from Sarasota as opposed to a one day car rental? Or if I fly into Tampa...a cab seems like it would cost ALOT...any suggestions??????
My trip is for this May.....

If you fly into Tampa, definitely rental. If you fly into Sarasota, cab.

Taxi's from RSW and SRQ have a flat fee for airports, tampa will cost you one of your arms or legs.

Call Ron at (941) 650-1932. I would guess that he charges around $120 for a ride from Tampa to Venice. He will treat you right! From SRQ to Venice I would guess around $70.

Call Shamrock Sedans @ 941-554-8598, it will be a nice comfortable ride, and about $110 to get from Tampa airport to Venice. If you end up flying into SRQ International, it will cost roughly $55. (I take this ride from Sarasota to Venice, with Shamrock Sedans three times a week, so they work out a pretty nice flat rate for me). They are the cheapest, but nicest cab company in the area. 941-554-8598. I hope you have a nice flight!
