So working on a budget for our move to Bradenton and trying to figure out what the average utility bills are going to be: We (2 of us) will be living in a newly constructed 2200 sq ft home with central air.
Any ideas what to expect on average monthly electric, gas, sewer and water?

You can go to this web site for the Manatee County Sewer and Water Rates - http://www.mymanatee.org/home/government/departments/utilities/customer-service/account-rates.html

The rates differ by usage. Determine what your current usage is where you live now and look at the chart for fees per # of gallons. Then you can determine what your costs might be for water.

For electric, go to the FPL (Florida Power and Light) site for their current rates – http://www.fpl.com/rates/index.shtml

Does the home you are moving to have gas? Most homes that have gas are either on a propane tank or there are some communities that have natural gas? But the majority of homes down here do not have gas.

We have a gas stove and the gas tankless hot water heater too. We rent a propane tank from Amerigas which is on the side of our home and we have it filled once a year. The price to fill it is always at the going rate. Our energy bills are lower in our current home that was built in 2006 at 2400 sq ft versus our previous home built in 2004 at 2100 sq ft. Our current home has double pane windows, more insulation and was built with other energy efficent features. These features have saved us money. We have a pool and we purchased the pump that runs on low speed for a longer period of time and uses less energy. So, the features of the home will make a difference in your energy bills as well.

If you live in an HOA community and the home has a gas stove, then I would assume the community has natural gas. Not sure which company is the provider. You would have to check on that.

A monthly FPL bill with no AC or heat is about $30-$35 Using AC or heat, the bill can be $80-$280. It will be determined by the setting of your thermostat. Being that you have a new home, you have a heat pump that will save you 'heating' money [down to about 35 degrees outside temp]. Install a programable thermostat to lower the amount you pay each month.
In Sarasota, the water/sewer is a minimum $31 if you don't use a drop of water. Plan on $60 a month, no lawn watering.

The AC costs can vary based on how the SEER / EER of the HVAC unit. And the insulation of the home. And the roof color and roof material. And the number/size of windows and whether they get full sun and if they are tinted windows or double pane windows. And if you have large overhangs. And whether your ceilings are 10' or 9' or 8' and whether they are vaulted ceilings.
