Hello. I am moving to Sarasota for work. I am a 36 year old woman and wonder what the dating scene is like. I plan to live (and work) in downtown Sarasota. What are the fun places to go out? Arts? Culture? Favorite pubs? Bars?
I am a native Floridian, although I haven't lived here for 11 years, so please no haters. I love my home state!

Lots to Do!
If you haven't seen Sarasota in 11 years, it will be quite a surprise. There is plenty for a single woman in her mid-thirties to do, especially living and working right DT (lucky dog)!
There are 2 movie theaters DT, one mainstream and one
art house . There are more restaurants than you can shake a stick at. Some of my faves are
Selva Grill ,
Ceviche ,
Tastings (http://awineexperience.com/NewsletterView.aspx?fri=5 - broken link)... check out this great website (broken link) for more. As for pubs and bars there's lots of those too, actually Selva & Ceviche have great bars. But there's also an Irish bar just up the street from Selva (but I can't remember the name) and there's the
**** and Bull . Someone else will probably chime in and fill in the gaps (I actually live south of Sarasota and for "pub time" we head to Punta Gorda).

young professionals group (http://www.sarasotachamber.com/ypg/Young-Professionals-Group.cfm - broken link). You may also want to check out the tvb website (broken link) for a quick overview. I started this post with movie theaters and quickly realized that there was way too much to put in a post.
I haven't even touched the beaches, the library, the Ca d'Zan & Ringling Museum, outdoor activities, sports, shopping... St. Armand's, the Hillview area...
